  • CSU’s College of Education and Health Professions (COEHP) is nationally accredited by NCATE, a distinction that only 58% of the nation’s educator preparation institutions can claim.
  • CSU’s School of Nursing is nationally accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
  • The Counseling programs are nationally accredited by The Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
  • All educator preparation programs are approved by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
  • In August 2009, the Board of Regents approved CSU’s first doctoral program in Curriculum and Leadership. The first doctoral cohort began coursework in January 2010.
  • The Chaplain's Program (Community Counseling) was recognized as CSU’s nominee for the Regent's Program Award in 2009.
  • More than 60 percent of the region’s teachers are graduates of the College of Education and Health Professions.
  • Seven of the last 11 Muscogee County Teachers of the Year are College of Education and Health Professions graduates.
  • In 2009-2010, the COEHP prepared and recommended 245 teachers, counselors, and leaders for initial certification.
  • In 2008-2009, 96 % (compared to 94% statewide) of COEHP teacher, counselor, and leader candidates passed the state certification exams in their respective content areas.
  • The average first time pass rate on the nursing licensure exam is 95% (four year average).
  • The employment rate for CSU nursing graduates is 100%.
  • The STEADY mentoring program for CSU teacher education graduates has helped to retain more than 90% of the participating teachers.
  • The CSU Kids 2 College program has brought thousands of local fifth-graders to CSU to experience college and participate in innovative activities with CSU teacher candidates.
  • In 2009-2010, COEHP Outreach Centers served over 43,000 individuals including K-12 students and teachers, CSU students and faculty, and community groups and organizations.
