Brief Bio: Dr. Ellen Roberts has served since 2003 as the Associate Dean in the College of Education at Columbus State University. She received her B.S. in Health and Physical Education from Mississippi State College for Women (now Mississippi University for Women), M.A. in Physical Education from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, and Ed.D. in Physical Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her professional career began as a high school physical education teacher and coach of volleyball, gymnastics, and track and field. She has also directed a Preschool Motor Development Program, coordinated women's intramurals, served as program director for many summers at a private girls' camp, and for most of her professional career taught physical education and wellness at the university level. Dr. Roberts came to CSU in 1987. In 2010 - 2011, she served as Interim Dean of COEHP. Her primary responsibilities as Associate Dean include curriculum development, personnel issues, and oversight of the facility. She continues to teach graduate courses in her field of interest.
